My Life, the Library Edition

The Thornhill branch of the St. Louis County library system has this program where new bestsellers (or projected bestsellers) are purchased in multiplicate and available for seven-day loan with no renewal.

A week ago, I saw My Life - probably 6 copies of it. Today when I stopped, there weren't any. Bet those who checked it out can't finish it in a week. But, then again, maybe the font is like the penmanship paper. See Bill govern.

1 Hmmm... about 2 solid hours of reading per day... from what I heard about how much self-absorbed trivia he stuffed that thing with, I'm guessing you're right that it can't be done. Hell, I'm hard-pressed to read that much in a day if I LIKE a book :-)

2 It's all the county library branches, and they're real snitty about that no renewal. If you bring it in and there's one on the shelf, you still have to turn the first one in and grab the one off the shelf. I think My Life is one of those books you can just skim through -- unlike War and Peace which I read over a weekend.
